Valentine's Look!

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for the lack of posts this week, we have been right in the midst of all the recent flooding and spent most of the week staying in a hotel!

Today I thought I'd share my (slightly belated) Valentine's look. I really wanted to stick to natural-looking, glowy make-up this Valentine's Day as we spent it at home enjoying a home cooked meal (yum!). For the base I used MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NW20 which I mixed with a little MAC Strobe Cream to give a slight glow. I used my normal concealers (Benefit Erase Paste in Medium and Clinique Even Better Concealer in Chamois) and dabbed a bit of Estee Lauder Ideal Light Brush-on Illuminator across my under-eye area and down my nose.

For my brows I used a MAC eyeshadow in Brun. I set the look using MAC Skinfinish Natural powder in Medium, before doing a slight contour using my Chocolate Soleil bronzer by Too Faced. I added some subtle sparkle to my cheeks using M&S's Limited Collection Highlighter, and used a small amount of Maybelline Dream Touch Blush in shade 02 on my cheeks to add a light flush.

Now, onto the eyes! The eyeshadows I used were all from the Urban Decay NAKED or NAKED 3 palettes. For the base I used the shade 'Virgin', and then dabbed the shade 'Half Baked' all over my lid (both from the NAKED palette). Under my eyes and in the outer corners I used 'Darkside' from the NAKED 3 palette, and in my crease I blended in 'Smog' from NAKED. I lined my waterline with a white liner from Revlon, and in the outer corners used my No7 Stay Perfect Shade and Define in Gunmetal Grey. Finally, I finished the look with a bit of Benefit They're Real! mascara and a slick of MAC lipstick in Hue (recently purchased in a blog sale for a bargainous £6!).

That's it folks! I hope you like my Valentine's look and please send me your links if you have done your own!

Face Of The Day

Hi Everyone,

Today I am doing my second Face Of The Day post so that I can share with you my first EVER mineral foundation (yes, I know, about time!!). This is a new purchase for me but I'm already a huge fan- the powder formula is so silky on my skin and just last and lasts.

I am using the ELF Personal Blend Mineral Foundation which I bought as part of my recent ELF haul. I have to admit that I'm not a huge fan of the packaging- the product comes with four different shades of foundation which you are meant to mix to find your 'personal blend'. Unfortunately, this makes it quite difficult to mix the exact same shade every time, and the powder does not come out as easily as I would like. Nevertheless, I still really like the product itself, and it is a fraction of the price of the other big mineral foundation brands.

On my face today I am wearing:

Prep:

Face:

Brow:
The usual - GOSH Eye Brow Kit

Cheeks:
Too Faced The Bronzed and The Beautiful Palette (Chocolate Soleil to Bronze and Powdered Sun to highlight)

Eyes:

Lips:
YSL Glossy Stain in 19 - Beige Aquarelle

I used my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush for buffing in the mineral powder, which made application really smooth and simple. The rest of my make-up I tried to keep relatively neutral so as not to detract from the nice, fresh-faced look of the mineral foundation.

And that's my face of the day, I hope you like it! Have any of you tried the ELF Personal Blend Foundation?

Feel free to leave me a comment as always and send me your links!

My first FOTD (and OOTD)!!

Hi Everyone,
I hope you are all having a splendid week! Today I have decided to do my first official Face of The Day post. I see so many of these cropping up on Bloglovin' and I am just so nosey I love to read about what products people have been using. I must admit that this is not always a good thing, as I am the queen of impulse-buying and as soon as I read about the next 'miracle' product I HAVE to go out and get it- like, RIGHT NOW. This is very dangerous when you're a blogger and spend pretty much every spare minute reading about new products- and it's left me quite spectacularly out of pocket recently!
Anyway, enough of my rambling and on to my face of the day. The reason I chose today for my first FOTD post was mainly to show off my amazing new 'The Bronzed & The Beautiful' palette from Too Faced, which I got yesterday. As if to prove my earlier point, I borrowed the same palette off my friend on Saturday night before we went on a night out, and fell so instantly in love with it that I immediately ordered one for myself the next morning!

My make-up for today is:
Prep:
Bliss Peeling Groovy Facial Serum
Face:
Brows:
GOSH Eyebrow Palette (and a bit of Vaseline to set!)
Cheeks:
Too Faced The Bronzed & The Beautiful Palette (which I bought from ASOS) - today I used Chocolate Soleil and Powdered Sun
Eyes:
Urban Decay Naked Palette using colours Virgin up to brow line, Toasted over the lid and Sin in inner corner
Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Liner in Black (on my lide and under my lower lashes)
Lips:
The brushes I used were Real Techniques Stippling Brush for foundation, Real Techniques Buffing Brush for bronzer along my forehead and jawline (from the Core Collection), MAC 168 Large Angled Contour Brush for contouring, MAC 129 Powder/ Blush Brush for blusher, Real Techniques Blush Brush for highlighting. For my eyeshadow I used the brush included in the Naked Palette.
I hope you like my Face of The Day! I was pleased with the fresh-faced glow that it gave me without being too OTT for work. I did my hair in a casual side bun to finish the look, but that was more for convenience than anything!
I also thought I'd include a snap of my Outfit of the Day, so that you could see the complete look. I was feeling the Summer vibe for work this morning, and I am wearing H&M White Skinny Jeans (£9.99!), ASOS Gold Sandal (from last Summer), Topshop Strappy Cami in Nude (£18) and River Island Gold Kimono Cardigan (£25). The watch is a Michael Kors look-a-like from M&S, and the necklace is an ancient one from Topshop. Ring was an 18th birthday present (many moons ago now!).

So, there you have it- this was today's look! I hope you enjoyed reading my post, and feel free to leave me a comment below. I will do a proper review of my Too Faced palette in the enxt few days.
On a separate note, I am delighted to have reached 50 followers on my Bloglovin' account! This is a huge milestone for me and means so much, so thanks to everyone who follows. I have got plans underway to do my first giveaway to mark the occasion- watch this space!!
